Midlands Crisis Pregnancy Counselling Service provides free post-abortion counselling and support to women who have had an abortion.  It does not matter whether the abortion happened recently, or many years ago. 
We can also organize for you to attend for a post-abortion medical check-up with a local GP. 

Location: The Midlands Crisis Pregnancy Counselling Service provides counseling in 6 locations in the Midlands: 
Athlone (HSE Health Centre, Oldtown)
Edenderry (HSE Health Centre)
Longford (6 Church Street)
Tullamore (21 Church Street)
Mullingar (7 Bridge Aprt Mc Curtain Street)
Mountmellick ( Primary Care Unit, Connolly Street)

How to make an appointment:  To make an appointment, 1800 200 857 (Freephone) or email crisispregnancy.counselling@hse.ie. The phoneline is open from Monday - Friday, 9:30am to 1pm and between 2pm - 3pm. If you call outside these hours, your call may not be answered, but you can leave a message and your telephone number and someone will call you back. Messages are checked every day.   You can expect to get an appointment within 3 working days.   

When you make your appointment: You can attend for counselling in any of the locations listed above. If you need directions, information on how to get to the service, or if you have concerns about the waiting area, please ask about this when you call to make your appointment and our receptionist will give you the information you need. Telephone counselling is also available.  

Who can attend: You may bring a partner, a friend or a family member with you.   Counselling is also available to them if it is needed.  

Who provides the counselling:  Counselling is provided by accredited counselors all of whom have worked with the service since it began over five years ago.

Post-abortion medical check-ups:  We can also organize for you to attend for a free post-abortion medical check-up with a GP.  It is advisable to have a post-abortion medical check-up two weeks after an abortion to make sure that you have fully recovered.
