The IFPA is Ireland's leading sexual health charity. It has been at the forefront of sexual and reproductive healthcare provision since 1969 and today offers a comprehensive range of services which promote sexual health and support reproductive choice on a not-for-profit basis.

The IFPA provides post-abortion counselling in 11 centres around the country.

Post-abortion medical check-ups are available in our Dublin clinics in Cathal Brugha St and Tallaght. Post - abortion medical check-ups can also be arranged for women living in Limerick, Waterford and Dundalk. Information about confidential free post -abortion medical services throughout the country is available on the IFPA National Pregnancy Helpline on 1850 49 50 51. Monday to Friday 9-5pm.

How to make an appointment: You can call Crisis Pregnancy Helpline Lo Call 1850 49 50 51 to make an appointment with one of our services or email . Helpline hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm. If you call outside these hours, your call may not be answered, but you can leave a message and your telephone number and someone will call you back. You can expect to get an appointment within 1-2 days.

When you make your appointment: You can attend for counselling in any of the locations listed above. If you need directions, information on how to get to the service, or if you have concerns about the waiting area, please ask about this when you call to make your appointment and our receptionist will give you the information you need. Telephone counselling is also available.

Who can attend: You may bring a partner, a friend or a family member with you. Counselling is also available to them if it is needed.

Who provides the counselling: Our free service is provided by professional accredited psychotherapists and counsellors who are experienced in providing support to women after an abortion.

Post-Abortion Medical Check-Up: All medical check-ups are carried out by a doctor with experience of providing medical support to woman after an abortion. You can make an appointment over the phone or through one of our counsellors. It is recommended that you attend for a post-abortion medical check-up two weeks after your abortion to make sure you have recovered both physically and emotionally after the procedure and are not worried about anything. This service is available regardless of whether you have attended IFPA medical or counselling services in the past. Post-abortion medical check-ups are available in:
